In Kiel’s Christian-Albrecht University Botanical Gardens, far more than 10,000 types of plants from all over the world have a home. An especially impressive plant is the Buttertree (Cyphostemma currorii) because examples of this type of plant in the Africa Aridhaus came as adult plants more than one hundred years ago to the collection of the Botanical Gardens.

They are representative of the traditions and scientific value of the plant collection and moreover are to be found as a symbol in the logo of the Botanical Gardens.
